Hey everyone! Over the past few weeks, I’ve been working on an idea that’s been bouncing around in my head for a while: Ipacs, a program to gamify everyday life. Why should the fun of leveling up be reserved for video games when we can apply it to our routines? I started building this on Notion—it’s not the flashiest tool, but it helped me lay down some clean, simple principles. Here’s a breakdown of where I’m at so far!
The Foundation of Ipacs
Ipacs is based on five core categories—Physical, Intelligence, Aesthetic, Career, and Social—covering all the key aspects of a balanced life. Each of these categories is broken down into subcategories, and every task you complete adds points to one of these areas. The goal? To keep everything balanced while progressing overall.
To make things more dynamic, tasks are divided into four types, depending on their impact:
- Habits: small, everyday actions, like doing the dishes or hitting the gym.
- Wins: moments where you push past your limits, like nailing a presentation or running your fastest 10k.
- Epic Tasks: major achievements, like completing a personal project or buying a sharp new outfit.
- Legendary Tasks: life milestones—running a marathon, landing your dream job, moving abroad, or even organizing your wedding.
Why Gamify Your Life?
After using all the typical productivity apps, I realized something was missing: the fun. Ipacs turns every action into a challenge, a step toward living a richer, more aligned life.
Here are some examples of tasks and their associated categories:
- Physical: run 5k, sleep 7+ hours, stick to a diet.
- Intelligence: meditate, focus for 30 minutes, listen to an inspiring podcast.
- Aesthetic: improve your appearance, declutter and decorate your home, or put together a standout outfit.
- Career: tackle freelance tasks, publish an article, or crush it on a work project.
- Social: host a dinner, check in on a friend, or attend a networking event.
The real challenge? Striking a balance across all the categories. Crushing your fitness goals is great, but not if it comes at the expense of your social life or creativity.
An App in the Making
For now, everything lives on Notion, but I’m working on turning it into a simple, interactive mobile app. Here’s the vision:
- Quick buttons to add points with one tap.
- A social leaderboard because, let’s face it, a little competition can be motivating.
- Full customization of categories and tasks to make it work for everyone.
What’s in a Name?
“Ipacs” isn’t just a random name; it represents the five pillars of the system:
- Intelligence
- Physical
- Aesthetic
- Career
- Social
It’s all about creating harmony across these areas to live your best life.
So, that’s where I’m at! If you’ve got ideas, feedback, or just want to follow the journey, let me know. Who knows—Ipacs might soon become the app that motivates you to level up in real life while having fun.
Stay tuned, and remember: gamify your life, because it deserves to be as exciting as a video game. 🎮
